About
Dr. Fernando Otero is a well-known vascular surgeon in the East Bay Area who specializes in general and vascular surgery. In April of 1989, Dr. Otero was the first surgeon in California to perform a laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis.
He was also the first surgeon to perform a laparoscopic cholecystectomy in Northern California. Since 2011, Dr. Otero has performed thousands of endovascular procedures and has shifted his focus to vascular and endovascular surgery. Dr. Otero is a founding member of the BASS Vein Center located in Walnut Creek.
